Once you’ve witnessed and experienced God’s work through our ministry first-hand, you know without a doubt that each person is truly called to be a part of the “Su Refugio Family.”
La Familia Ambassador Program turns your “Su Refugio Story” testimony into tangible action and awareness for Su Refugio Ministries. Our family can never be too big! It only takes an invitation and an open heart to share in His good work together.
Using our time, talents, and treasures for HIS glory is part of God’s big plan and heart for protecting and caring for orphans and widows today.

“It’s about making a connection. Not just making a bunch of noise and leaving."
When Sandy said yes to a trip to Paraguay in 2003, she said yes to meeting the needs of children in poverty, door-to-door evangelism, church planting, and sharing the gospel with great joy. That first trip marked the beginning of an incredible journey for both her and her husband, Jim.
Alongside the many missions trips, they have been the hands and feet of Su Refugio by participating on the board, building playgrounds, sponsoring children, generously volunteering time and proofreading talents, becoming prayer warriors, inviting others on mission trips, and connecting their home church to host meal pack events.
“It only takes an invitation to experience and further God’s work together.”
“He told me the vision that God gave him, and I could tell it was deep, meaningful, and something he wanted to follow through with.”
Julie Woodruff was one of the first people to hear about the vision God planted to start Su Refugio when it was merely scribbles on an airplane napkin. To many people, this vision would seem crazy, but Julie and Scott could see that God was about ignite something bigger than their imaginations.
Their hearts were captured while serving on mission trips, but Julie has become an invaluable volunteer in the United States by using her impeccable organization skills as the coordinator for mission trip and Child Sponsorship programs. Loving and serving orphans together through child sponsorship extended as an invitation for their church to take action. Through a recent food pack event, their church congregation packed 30,000 meals for Peru.
Serving abroad, at home, or as a church truly makes an impact in the lives of orphans and widows in South America.
